Miranda McCarthy

I offer individual therapy to people who are facing challenges and transitions in life. I bring a combination of my psychotherapeutic training and background, and a depth and breadth of life experience to my work. I am based in West Cork and work both in-person and online.

I create and hold a warm, safe, and supportive environment with clear boundaries, within which you can experience a non-judgmental acknowledgment of who you are and where you are in your life. This space is created through deeply listening to you, acknowledging you and reflecting back to you. Through this connection, trust and safety grows which enables a great depth of exploration into feelings, behavioural and relationship patterns. I will then work with you to develop your own inner resources and trust of yourself, from where you can make the changes and steps forward needed in your life.

In this confidential and compassionate space, we can explore together:

Who and how you are in the world
What you do, and how and why you do it
Where you are in your life, and what serves and doesn’t serve you
What your needs and desires are, and what you want to manifest in your life

I see clients with a wide range of issues and challenges and offer support to people seeking therapy for personal development, and to those going through life-changing events. I specialise in working with women who are coming out later in life and with members of the LGBTQI+ community. I work with a flexible approach and aim to address the whole person – feelings, mind, body and spirit. I include an awareness of emotional, physical, and thought processes in the therapeutic journey, while tuning into what is most alive and significant for the person and helping to pinpoint where their struggle lies.
